The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce is your online source for information on Salisbury and Wicomico County, Maryland.

The Requirements...

The Salisbury Area Chamber of Commerce was looking for an update to the design of their website, since it had not been updated since it's original launch several years ago. We worked with Chamber to give them a new design that made the site look more modern. This included updating the code so that it no longer primarily relied on tables. The site now uses CSS to define the layout of the site, making it easier to edit, as well as be found by the search engines.

The Outcome...

We also updated their rotation image from a GIF file to use Flash. This makes it much easier for the webmaster of the site to add, edit, and delete images and captions that appear in the movie. Instead of having to build a new animated GIF everytime they wanted to add or delete an image, they simply have to upload the image and edit an XML file. This makes it easier to edit, as well as makes look better for the visitor. We worked with the Chanmber to design them a more contemporary site. We also worked closely with the company that handles their database of events, so that the same "look and feel" would be seen across the two sites. After it's launch, we worked closely with the employees in charge of updating the site, making it as easy as possible to continue to maintain the site themselves, using FrontPage and Microsoft's Expression Web software.
